POSITION DESCRIPTION:
This is an excellent opportunity for a college student to acquire hands-on Human Resources job experience. The Vice President of HR will provide all the necessary training and direction for your success in this internship.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Work is distributed among the following HR functions:
Employment:
- Posts job openings on various websites and keeps track of the postings and expiration dates
- Screen and source resumes on various job boards
- Schedules or performs phone screens and interviews of potential candidates
- Make flight, hotel and car arrangements for job candidates
- Assist with new hire packets and new hire orientation
Benefits and compensation:
- Compiles employee information for compensation analysis surveys
- Assists with open enrollment for company health benefits
Policy:
- Research and compile information for various company policy changes
- Draft policies for employee handbook
Assists with special projects as needed & other duties as assigned
REQUIREMENTS:
- A college junior or senior
- Strong communication skills and work ethic
- Works 10-12 hours a week (Schedule is flexible)
- Demonstrates ability to work in an organized and efficient manner
- Must be friendly, outgoing, and eager to learn
